This week's special topic is Virtual Etiquette 101! Join us for a short presentation to learn more about etiquette specific to interacting with employers virtually, and have plenty of time for Q&A about career development topics.
Do you have questions about exploring careers or searching for jobs? Drop In and chat with a Career Specialist! Our expertise is with Career Development, Employment Outlook, Job Searching, Resume Writing, Career Decisions, Assessment, and Interviewing, but if we don’t have the answers, we can look for the people who do.
- Career Exploration: Will the job that you are going to school be the job you end up wanting, will it give you the lifestyle you want? How can you find out while you are still in school if this is the right direction for you?
- Resumes: Learn how to present your knowledge, skills, and abilities to potential employers. Receive help with developing a professional resume and cover letter. · Job/Internship Search: Use our online recruiting system, Career Network, to view job postings and internships from various employers in the St. Louis Metropolitan area and nationally. Once you are set up, the information may be viewed 24/7 from any device with internet access.
- Interview and Networking Prep: Attend programs that will help with preparation for an internship and/or the job market. (e.g. STLCC Career Networking events, Career Fairs, Career Competency Series, On-Campus Recruitment, etc.).
- Participate in information sessions, mock interviews and informational interviews.
If you are not sure of the answers to some of the above questions, Think About Your Future Thursday: Virtual Drop-In Hour may be just where you need to be.
