We often forgo doing things for ourselves for the sake of others around us or our busy schedules. When we do get a chance to take care of self, it may come with guilt or a sense of selfishness. For us to effectively take care of others, we must first take care of self. As the flight attendants instruct us, “Please apply your oxygen mask first before assisting others.” This session allows one to explore self-care, its elements and implementation while not feeling guilty. Participants will learn what self-care is, how it affects our mental health, the negative impact of not incorporating self-care routines, and techniques for holistic self-care.
